so i had this extra bedroom in my house that wasn't being used. so i turned it into a "yoga studio". but i still didn't use it. so i turned it into a crafting/sewing/hangin' out room, and i use it much more. here are some pictures of it!

creative juice )

so now i have a place to do all my messy projects. i've also opened an etsy account so i can sell vintage clothes and other handmade items while i am unemployed! support the arts! (and by arts, i mean my broke ass.)

stole this from my internet friend who seems to be full of good ideas:

"The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me!

My choice.
For you.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
- What I create will be just for you.
- It'll be done this year. No guarantees when, it will be a total surprise!
- You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be poetry. I may draw or paint something. I may bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!
- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you have to repost this, and repost right away.
We can all make stuff and make someone's day a little bit brighter!
Don't respond if you aren't going to offer the same thing."

my newest DIY project: bath bombs!

i love bath bombs from lush, but after looking at the ingredients, i figured they couldn't be that hard to make myself. so i did. my first batch came out kind of shitty, i used too much oil so they didn't stick together. they just crumbled apart. but this time i think i got the recipe right. i used colloidal oatmeal powder (like in aveeno bath) some sweet almond oil for scent, and cocoa butter. i picked up some cute packaging materials at michaels, and now they are ready to be given as gifts. they are super fun and fizzy, and make your bath smell like dessert.

what do you think?

dear school janitor, do you have to walk by with a leaf blower when im trying to listen to fleet foxes?

leave the leaves alone.

im sitting under a ginormous tree where the leaves are falling at a rate of about 20 leaves per minute. 20 lpm. tomorrow, there are going to be thousands more on the sidewalks again. her efforts are unavailing.

please take this wonderful autumney song. and enjoy it without the obstruction of an obnoxious leaf blowing machine.

today is a perfect weather day. i can't possibly do math homework!

i am sitting alone in the school cafeteria at a table fit for 8. half of the tables are empty, and a girl who is also alone just sat down at another 8 person table, but is 5 feet away and directly facing me. its making me feel antsy. i always sit with my back against the wall so i can see everything going on in the room, and outside if there's a window. i wonder why she sat facing me, of all the spots to choose from. there is a window, so i'm enjoying all of the boots and scarves and jackets walking by. i just finished my physics exam, which i did really well on. we had 2 hours, and most people were finished in 1, but i used the full 2. we were allowed to use a 3x5 note card, front and back, and fill it with whatever notes we wanted, and write as small we could. i really like this idea because by the time i came up with a good card, i already knew the info. my professor looks like the real-life equivalent of ms. frizzle. shes not quite as enthusiastic about taking chances, making mistakes, and getting messy, but she is pretty quirky and admits to listening to heavy metal every day. i like physics.
